Exclusive: Cosmetics and Fragrance Week Proposed

Brothers Emmanuel and Thomas Saujet, CEO and president respectively of International Cosmetics & Perfumes, have proposed a twice-yearly Fragrance & Cosmetic Week in New York and Paris for perfume, skin care and color cosmetic makers to unveil their newest creations for top editors, retailers and the fragrance and cosmetic communities at large.

"Under the superb leadership of Fern Mallis, Seventh on Sixth and IMG, Fashion Week has flourished into the premier industry forum for clothing designers, established and new. Today's enormous and vital fragrance and cosmetics industry would benefit from a similar approach, providing visibility and opportunity not only for established makers, but for the next generation."

Emmanuel and Thomas Saujet, 38 and 31 years old respectively, created the first Hanae Mori fragrance, Butterfly, in 1996 when they were still in school at Tufts and NYU respectively, with $50,000 in borrowed capital. During school breaks, the brothers drove from retailer to retailer to persuade one to carry the scent. Today, Butterfly and all Hanae Mori Parfums -- including new Magical Moon for women -- are sold at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom (and www.nordstrom.com), Bloomingdale's, Sephora and regional chains.

In 2004, the brothers' firm, International Cosmetics & Perfumes, became the exclusive U.S. and Canadian marketer and distributor of Creed fragrances from France, offered now at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and select Saks stores exclusively. The brothers are also the worldwide marketer and distributor of Beauty by Clinica Ivo Pitanguy, the debut luxury skin care line from the Rio clinic of the world renowned plastic surgeon Dr, Ivo Pitanguy. In May 2006, the brothers were named to TIME Magazine's list of People To Watch In Global Business. Their firm, International Cosmetics & Perfumes, has offices in Manhattan, Beverly Hills and Paris.
